The first test for Mass Defense occurred on Christmas day, 2023. It was with some of my friends at my house.

Basic setup.

• Camera was using an iPhone.
• The image detection was with a classifier. Not very accurate.
• Weapons tested were knife and pistol, toy gun.
• Tested the SMS messaging.

What went well?

• The SMS messaging worked great.

What went poorly?

• The image detection was poor. We had to get the weapon up close to the camera.
• The detector and camera were running on the same device.
• Command central was run on a computer, not distributed.
